Most people are looking for the best way to become fit.
There are many reasons to be fit, some want longevity, others want strength, and others want a great appearance.
Whatever your goal is, you want to become fit to achieve it!
In today’s world, almost everyone is convinced that the only way to become healthy and fit is to go to the gym.
But the truth is you can build an amazing physique, gain maximum strength, improve mobility, and develop muscular endurance with just your body weight.
I am not saying the gym is useless, actually, I have respect for anyone who tries to become better and improve health with any method.
What I am trying to say is there is a method that anyone can use anywhere anytime to achieve any fitness goal with minimum equipment.
Not only that but also using calisthenics as your main training style is much safer and more functional than training in the gym.
Gym and modern fitness methods could be more harmful than useful!
Most of the fitness industry is fake!
Modern fitness influencers use editing, steroids, lighting, and synthol to look bigger and stronger than they actually are!
They just care about selling you this supplement or that magic equipment that will transform your life, only to make as much money from you.
If you open any social media platform, you will get lots of ads and posts about the greatest pre-workout powder shake that will make you a hulk in a few weeks.
Or that guy who tells you to try his latest cutting-edge training routine that will make you look like him! And of course,, you want to be like that guy!
But of course, he just tells you lies about how he got his physique.
Unfortunately lots of fake natties in the last years claim they are 100% lifetime natural, they just have trained hard over the years and now they enjoy the results.
The truth that they don’t tell you is a steroid is the main component behind their big muscles and fake strength. They aren’t healthy or strong!
Actually, their lives are very miserable and unhealthy.
I am sure you have heard countless stories about many guys who got exposed for being fake naturals. They disappoint their fans and themselves!
Imagine being a big fan of someone who lies to you and sells you some useless thing to just look like him!
Not all fitness influencers are fake natties but lots of them are, I won’t say most of them.
You need to pay attention to who you listen to and don’t compare your physique to some random guy on the internet. (Or anyone!)
Gym lifestyle causes many injuries
Lots of gym rats have many unhealing injuries that they just adjust their training to avoid making it worse or take painkillers.
Shoulders and lower back are the most injured parts for many gym goers.
Let’s take deadlift as an example, it works lots of muscles but doing it with heavy weights causes terrible injuries in the lower back!
Sometimes trainee’s biceps are cut from this exercise, and it’s also terrible on the joints.
The danger doesn’t end there, I watched a video weeks ago about a bodybuilder who died performing a heavy squat. It was very sad what caught my attention was there was a spotter behind him, he hadn’t done anything to save the bodybuilder's life before the bar with heavy weights broke his neck!
Even with a spotter heavy weights could become very dangerous and actually deadly
Lots of bodybuilders learn to just live with pain and adjust their routines and exercises to avoid pain and make their injuries worse!
Some of them use drugs and painkillers to keep training because that’s their job, their job is to look strong and big as hell so that they sell you the secret recipe that made them that way.
But of course, the truth is their look is fake, and they aren’t really that strong or even healthy.
They actually are like dummy balloons that are full of air.
Gym isn’t athletic or functional
Training in the gym It’s not functional, the human body wasn’t designed to train muscles in isolation, and it makes the body stiff.
The human body is designed to move itself in space, not moving external objects in weird angles!
That’s why we see many people who develop big muscles but can’t mob their hair or tie their shoes. Remember big muscles don’t necessarily mean strength or athleticism.
We all love to look bigger with a muscular body, but the modern fitness industry made us think we should aim for the bodybuilders who take steroids. So we feel frustrated, weak, and small.
The fact is we don’t need to look massive like bodybuilders to be healthy and strong. We shouldn’t only care about looks and ignore function.
We can be fit and also big, but in a moderate way.
That doesn’t mean gym equipment is completely useless, but it means they are not completely functional for athletic training.
Training with that equipment for years develops bad injuries and harms the joints badly.
We are all different with different body types, so it doesn’t really make sense to make one equipment or device to be used by everyone!
This causes lots of injuries, especially in the shoulders, joints, and lower back.
The end result is feeling paralysed not fit! Not the result anyone wants I guess.
Calisthenics is the natural way to train your body to achieve ultimate strength and athleticism!
The best way to exercise is to move your body the way it was designed to move, using your body weight against gravity is the best natural way to train to gain maximum strength and endurance.
The ancients were smart enough to know that calisthenics is the ultimate training method, as I mentioned before gladiators, warriors, and athletes used calisthenics to achieve the ultimate physique and power.
You don’t need expensive equipment, supplements, or weird devices to become strong and fit.
All you really need is your body! That’s it.
You can develop superhuman strength and endurance using only your body weight
Calisthenics is super functional training for all athletes
Lots of great athletes throughout history used calisthenics to achieve the ultimate performance in their sports.
Mike Tyson used to do hundreds of push ups everyday to gain his powerful knock.
Bruce lee used bodyweight exercises to heal his back injury that was a result of lifting weights.
All martial artists use body weight drills to gain great fighting abilities.
All military camps depend exclusively on body weight to condition their soldiers.
Develops superhuman strength
Tendons develop much slower than muscles. That’s why lots of powerlifters injure their tendons because their muscles get stronger faster than they should.
Calisthenics improves tendons and ligaments strength as well as muscle strength.
That’s the reason why we see lots of guys who are so strong but their muscles aren’t really that big, they have great tendons and ligament strength.
Strength isn’t just about muscles, it’s a combination of different things.
The risk of injury is much less than using the gym and equipment
I have been training calisthenics for 3 years, I haven’t got injured once!
No pain in my shoulders, lower back, or joints. Week after week I get better and stronger.
I train progressively trying to increase reps over time and do a harder variation of every exercise in my program. I don’t try to rush the process because I know that I will improve faster this way.
In the gym, I used to have several injuries and lower back problems that made me avoid exercise sessions multiple times.
Moving your own body in space is the safest form of training.
It’s safe on your muscles, tendons, and skeletal structure.
Everyone can start and benefit from calisthenics
No matter how old you are, how much you weigh, or your exercise history, you can always start calisthenics and gain great benefits.
Whatever your goal is, you can achieve it with bodyweight exercises.
You can improve your muscular endurance, become stronger, gain bigger muscle, gain weight, lose weight, and improve athletic performance.
You may think it’s too good to be true but believe me, I used calisthenics myself to achieve all my fitness goals in record time.
It reverses gym’s injuries
You might think this is a big claim, but I experienced this myself.
As we know calisthenics training is the natural way to train your body.
When you do something wrong for a long time, it will give you bad results. The best way to reverse those results is to start doing the right thing.
My lower back was suffering because of training in the gym, even though the time I spent there wasn’t that long. I decided to do something to get rid of the pain in my lower back it was like hell.
I felt the pain even outside the gym, sometimes every time I take a step I feel it! I finally decided to go to the doctor, but suddenly an ad for a home training application popped up on my phone screen.
It showed bodyweight exercises that will heal lower back pain. I said I had nothing to lose and decided to give it a try.
I expected that those exercises would give me temporary relief until I had the time to go to the doctor. I started doing 2-3 sessions.
To my surprise, my lower back pain was gone forever!
I said well maybe If I stopped training the pain would come back, but again I was surprised. Even though I stopped training the pain hadn’t come back!
I was completely healed, it was like a miracle for me.
And of course, I didn’t go to the doctor!
The main exercise I was doing was the bridge, I discovered It’s a great exercise not only for healing many back injuries but also for strengthening the spinal muscles.
Of course, I don’t mean not going to the doctor if you face any problem!
Your number 1 destination is the doctor.
I am trying to tell you that bodyweight exercises won’t injure you, and actually will protect you from many injuries.
Calisthenics is low-friction
It could be done anywhere anytime with minimal equipment!
You might think this is a cliche phrase that every calisthenics athlete uses.
But it’s true, you can save your time and money and get much better results at the time with calisthenics.
All you really mean is your body and a horizontal bar above you and you can have a great exercise session.
On the other side, you need to prepare your clothes, drive to the gym, change your clothes, and after this long time and effort start training.
Not only that you might wait for some time until the equipment is free to use.
After all of that, you need to change clothes and drive back home!
In calisthenics, things are much simpler than that. Which allows you more time and mental energy to focus on your workout.
It’s much more fun
This is one of the best things I like and admire about calisthenics.
You really have limitless exercises and options to exercise with your body weight. Varying from the easiest to the hardest exercises.
For example, the push up, It’s not just the known ordinary exercise most people know. It starts from wall push ups to ordinary push up to one arm push ups.
It’s like a game you get better week after week, month after month, until finally, you acquire superhuman strength and endurance.
You start with 4-10 basic exercises like pull ups, push ups, squats, and leg raises, and you increase the exercise difficulty over time.
With progressive calisthenics training, you become stronger without injury.
There are really many exercises and routines to choose from. And you can adjust your workouts and routines to achieve several goals like strength, endurance, or hypertrophy.
Trust me, you won’t ever get bored with calisthenics
Better mind-muscle connection
You hear this term a lot in the bodybuilding community.
To achieve a better result every time you exercise, you need to really pay attention to the muscles you train.
In calisthenics, you are forced to pay attention when you exercise. Because lots of movement requires you to focus to keep balance and stability.
This increases muscle connection and control greatly.
Resulting in developing great mental toughness and great focus.
You don’t just train your body but also your mind.
Great tendons and ligament strength
You don’t just train your muscles, but also tendons and ligaments.
That’s why lots of bodybuilders injure their tendons badly in the gym.
Because muscles develop much faster than tendons, so tendons can’t keep up with the new weights.
With calisthenics, your tendons get stronger over time simultaneously with your muscles.
Strength isn’t just about muscle size, it’s about muscles, tendons, ligaments, and skeletal structure.
That’s why we find many guys who are so strong even if they don’t have big muscles.
Start with a plan of 4-10 exercises to master.
If you want to start calisthenics transition your focus from the gym or bodybuilding or even do hybrid training. I recommend starting with fewer exercises.
As you get stronger and understand the right form to do the exercise, you then increase the difficulty of each exercise you perform.
After a good time of training, you can increase frequency, and intensity and add more exercises to your arsenal.
Don’t get discouraged if you can’t do the hardest movements you see on the internet. Some skills take years to learn like full planche.
That doesn’t mean you can’t train Planche, there are easier progressions for the Planche or any calisthenics skill.
You start with the easiest progression, then build up until you reach the ultimate skill.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone, it’s your journey and you are unique.
It’s not fair to compare your first chapter with the last chapter of someone else.
Don’t even compare how much time it takes you to reach a specific skill or movement, you will eventually get there.
This applies to everything you do in calisthenics whether it’s planche, muscle ups, front levers, or anything else.
You have to love the journey because it’s truly worth it and you will have lots of fun and gain great strength and awesome physique.
